Waikiki Beach!

Waikiki Beach is one of the most famous beaches in the world. Located on the sun drenched Hawaiian Island of Oahu, it offers its visitors not just sand and sun but also restaurants and beach clubs set right on the beach. Parallel to Waikiki Beach is the almost as famous Kalakaua Avenue. In day time Kalakaua Avenue is shoppers paradise. Later in the day, it will give you a hard time to decide where to eat with its overwhelming choice of both fancy and traditional  restaurants. And when the sun sets, Kalakaua Avenue is the place to be for entertainment.

Are you a surfer? Want to become a surfer? You just found paradise. Waikiki Beach is known for its easy-to-rookies-waves which are ideal for your first steps on a board. You can rent boards and gear on the beach. But please do not be as hard headed as this old captain; take some lessons! The waves may be friendly, riding a board is still a skill you have to master. Believe me. I found out the hard way...

A surfboard isn't your thing? What about a catamaran? Or kayaking? Or outrigger canoing? It's all there. Catamaran rides to and from Diamond Head are offered by several different companies. It's an adventure - believe me!

Restaurants? Waikiki Beach is famous for it! There are several restaurants located right on Waikiki Beach, such as Duke's Canoe Club and the Surf Room. When the evening sets in, you can enjoy a romantic dinner while you watch the sun set over the beautiful and amazing Pacific.

The Waikiki difference
I've been around. But take it from an old and seasoned captain:  few places on this earth manage to capture the beauty and tranquility that Waikiki offers. Hawaii has long been known for a tropical paradise, with Maui being the outspoken example. If you've been looking for the ideal place for a cruise destination, you should at least consider to go to Waikiki.

Hawaii in general and the island of Oahu especially, is probably one of the best (if not the best) destination for a cruise. The islands are friendly, warm and welcome you with great enthusiasm. There is so much to do and so much to enjoy! It makes it almost impossible NOT to enjoy a visit to Hawaii.
