A few questions before you go
The
Questions that Needs to be Answered Before Booking a Cruise
These days going on a cruise
is quite easy. There are hundreds of companies that can’t
wait to take you almost anywhere you want. Or nowhere specific. When
you have an internet connection, you do not even have to leave the
comfort of your house. The only left limitations are your budget, your
time and your imagination. But before you decide where to go, a few
questions need to be answered.
”Where do you want to
go?” That’s usually the first question when a
cruise comes to mind. But there should be a second, a third and even a
fourth; “How do you want to travel, how much time do you have
and what is the amount of money you want to spend”. Finding
the answers on these last three are probably not the most fun part of
preparing for a cruise, but they are essential for answering the first.
Unless your budget has no limits, it is
important to plan out a budget for your cruise. Previously, at least
$100 a day per person was needed for a cruise. That has changed
dramatically. Make sure that you shop around and find out the cruise
offering the best rates and terms. In this case, the internet is your
best friend. Do your homework and you will save money. Either by paying
less or by finding a better package for the same amount of money. A
good travel agent however, can be of great assistance. He (or she) is a
specialist and can therefore save you lots of money. They are
usually aware of the best deals on the market, and the discounts that
you can avail.
Choose
your ship wisely
Next part of the agenda lies in choosing the best ship for your cruise.
You have to choose the ship depending on the type of cruise you have in
mind. There are family ships that offer wonderful services for children
if needed. They have teen discos, activity pools, childcare services,
video arcades and even kid friendly menus. With these facilities, you
can enjoy yourself on the cruise, with your family and friends.
Then there are ships that are completely
tailored for adults that are great for people without kids around.
These ships have many martini bars, formal dining restaurants, fitness
centers, nightclubs, casinos and deck games.
No
destination
You next have to choose a ‘room’. Most cruise ships
offer you a choice. Don’t make a decision for budget reasons
only. Some of us need some hours alone every day, some of us
don’t even think of leaving the most crowded places on the
ship. It all depends on what you want. If you use your cabin just to
sleep, book the cheapest cabin you can find. If you intend to enjoy the
peace and quietness of your private cabin, book one with a view if you
can afford.
Decide on what you intend to do while on a
cruise; if you intend to go for a shore excursion (you should!) it is
important that it is booked before hand. That saves you both time and
money. BTW; did you now there are cruises with no destination at all?
Yes, cruises that go nowhere. It’s great! You get to spend a
long weekend on a cruise with no ports of call at all. You have all the
amenities of the cruise to keep yourself busy. No, how is that for a
relaxing weekend?
Did you know you can
submit your own articles? Tell the rest of the world about your cruise.
Isn’t that fun? Go to ‘Submit articles’
on the left and you’ll see how easy it is. I love
